Title: Red Fish Pass
Artist: Ken Bucklew
Size: 24" x 30", framed 32" x 38"
Red Fish Pass was formed by a storm in the 1920's separating Captiva Island to form North Captiva. It's southern tip of which is shown here looking east across Pine Island Sound.
Pine Island is the distant strip of land and beyond that mainland Florida. I've fished here many times as our guide will run the bot of the boat into the sane to hold position in the strong current raging in and out of the Gulf of Mexico behind us.
The trio of brown pelicans gliding over the mangroves are Florida's state bird.
